Catholic Sabha Mogarnad Deanary level Sports Festival was held on 03.11.2019 at Deva Matha School, Amtoor – Bantwal in collaboration with the Catholic Sabha Mogarnad Unit and Devmata Youth Association, Mogarnad.

Mr. Ajay Pais, the president of the Catholic Sabha Mogarnad Unit welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Deepak Desa, Assistant priest of Devmata Church Mogarnad, spoke about the importance of sports.

Mr. Elias Dsouza, the political convener of the Catholic Sabha Mangalore Region, Mr. Antony Dsouza, President of the Catholic Sabha Mogarnad Zone, Mrs. Janet Vas, Vice President of the Church pastoral council, Mr. Melwyn Dcunha, President of ICYM Mogarnad Unit and the president of Vittal and Shamboor unit were presented on the Dias. Treasurer, Mr. Maxim Pinto thanked the gathering. Kumari Reshma Dcunha hosted the formal function.

Games such as 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter race, shot put, long jump, relay, volleyball, throw ball were organized for different categories. Mr. Prashanth Louis hosted the sports event.

Current year has been celebrated as the “Year of Youth” in Mangalore Diocese. As a part of this, Catholic Sabha Mangalore Pradesh (R) will be holding a Diocese level sports meet on 17-11-2019 in Moodabidre. Winners of this Sports Festival at the Deanery level are eligible to participate in the Diocese level sports meet on 17-11-2019.

Addressing the gathered Rev, Fr. Mark Castelino, Parish priest of Mogarnad parish congratulated the winners and the athletes who participated in the sport.
