Travellers on Mangalore-Bangalore Highway tomorrow will have a bit of a go. Traffic on Mangalore-Bangalore National Highway has been shifted tomorrow as a result of protests by Muslim organizations in Mangalore against the CAA.

Traffic will be changed from 9am to 9pm tomorrow and vehicles traveling from Bangalore to Mangalore via Melkar, Konaje, Thokkottu to Mangalore and vehicles traveling from Mangalore to Bengaluru will have to drive through Pumpwell, Thokkottu, Konaje and BC Road. Similarly, Mangalore is also accessible via BC Road, Kaikamba and Polali. And Bangalore via Udupi,Padubidre, Karkala, Dharmasthala and Shiradi.

A protest will take place at Adyar Kannur’s Shah Gardens on the outskirts of Mangalore as protest is not allowed in Mangalore. Muslim organizations are protesting for the first time in the aftermath of the D-19 riots. A variety of organisations headed by the Muslim Central Committee will be involved.

More than one Lakh people from the Dakshin Kannada and Udupi districts are anticipated to gather. The keynote address will be delivered by IAS Retired Officer Harsha Mandar, Kannan Gopinathan and Retired Judge Gopalagowda. A number of organizations, including PFI and SDPI, will be involved.
